Vietnam Veterans Honored with a Long Overdue Welcome Home at Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial

On March 29, Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial was filled with something many Vietnam Veterans did not receive when they first returned home: a heartfelt “Welcome Home.”

Throughout the day, visitors gathered on our campus to honor the men and women who served during the Vietnam War and to remember the more than 58,000 who never returned. It was a day filled with reflection, connection, and gratitude.

Guests walked the Pathways of Freedom, paused for quiet moments at America’s Wall, and took time to reflect on the sacrifices made in service to our country. For many, the experience was deeply personal, offering an opportunity to honor loved ones, revisit memories, and stand in solidarity with those who served.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was the presence of Vietnam Veteran volunteers. By sharing their stories, they created powerful and personal connections with visitors. These conversations opened the door for understanding, healing, and recognition, something that was often missing when these Veterans first came home.

Moments like these are only possible because of your support.

Your generosity allows us to create opportunities where remembrance becomes personal, where stories are shared, and where gratitude is expressed openly and sincerely. Because of you, every Veteran who visits our Memorial is seen, honored, and Never Forgotten.

Thank you for being part of this important day. Your continued support ensures we can carry forward our mission and continue creating meaningful experiences for Veterans and their families.
