The story of Keepers of the Promise begins with the founding of our National Memorial. During the Tet Offensive in 1968, our founder, Vietnam Veteran Jim Eddleman, made a vow: if he made it home, he would honor those who didn’t.

Jim kept that promise by donating 46 acres and $2.5 million to build what is now Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial.
