Unveiling New Tributes to America’s Veterans
Honoring the strength, courage, and sacrifice of those who served.
On October 26, 2025, Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial hosted the National Day of Deployment Statue Dedication Ceremony, a meaningful gathering to honor the men and women who have served and those who continue to serve far from home.
The ceremony marked another important milestone in our mission to remember, reflect, and recognize the sacrifice of America’s heroes. Families, Veterans, and community members came together at the Honor Flag Memorial to witness the unveiling of two new statues, powerful tributes that now stand as lasting symbols of courage and devotion.
We were deeply honored to welcome Master Gunnery Sergeant Brian Burlingame, USMC (Ret.), as our guest speaker. MGySgt Burlingame served 30 years in the United States Marine Corps, with deployments spanning Desert Storm, Somalia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His early service took him to Naples, Italy, and Okinawa, Japan, and he also served as a Drill Instructor, shaping the next generation of Marines. His exceptional leadership in combat earned him the Legion of Merit.
His lifetime of service embodies the true spirit of the National Day of Deployment, steadfast dedication, sacrifice, and love of country. His reflections moved everyone in attendance and served as a powerful reminder of the resilience and devotion that define America’s service members.
The unveiling of the new statues was a proud and emotional moment for our entire community, symbolizing our ongoing mission to ensure that every Veteran’s story is remembered.
Inside the Military Museum, our growing photo display, now with even more submissions this year, continues to tell powerful stories of deployment and courage. Each new photo reminds us why our mission matters and how deeply these experiences continue to touch lives.
