Classic Car Cruise at the National Memorial

Two community members wondered how they could give back, and their idea made a big impact.

Earlier this summer, Greg and Kevin Harned visited Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial with a simple question: “What if we hosted a Classic Car Cruise fundraiser for the National Memorial?” The response was an immediate yes, and from that moment, plans began to take shape.

On Saturday, September 7, their idea became reality. More than 40 beautiful classic cars rolled onto our campus for Heartland Hotrods’ Classic Car Cruise. Visitors enjoyed food, drinks, and drawings, with all proceeds benefiting Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial.

What made the event especially meaningful was that Greg, Kevin, and their friends organized it out of pure generosity. Their goal was simple: to support the National Memorial and honor Veterans. The event was such a success that plans are already in motion for next year’s Classic Car Cruise fundraiser.

Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial extends heartfelt thanks to Greg, Kevin, Heartland Hotrods, and everyone who came out to participate. Because of supporters like them, Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial can continue its mission to honor all who served, support their families, and provide a lasting place of remembrance and reflection.

Here’s what matters most: events like this remind us that community support keeps the promise to honor Veterans every single day.
